It is the fourth collaboration between MPMA and Dow P&SP to jointly build a platform for social and environmental progress, through education and outreach, for school children to learn the importance and benefits of a sustainable planet and society via competitions to use plastics recyclables for art, robotics and eco-fashion, and a public speaking competition on the topic "Plastics in the Environment - Friend or Foe". Dato' Raymond Sng, vice president of MPMA said, "I am especially pleased to note that in the public speaking competition, the students had demonstrated great knowledge on how the recycling of plastics can help in sustainability efforts. Together with Dow, we want to challenge the youths to rethink about their impact on the environment today and begin cultivating good habits and practices that will benefit the society and generations to come." The MPMA-Dow Program is the second effort in Melaka. In 2016, the program has been well received by enthusiastic students from 6 schools in Alor Gajah.
